Learn how EDGE software can benefit hotels
Hoteliers who are keen to understand the return on investment of green initiatives can attend a free webinar on EDGE next week.
Attendees of the EDGE Discovery Workshop webinar will learn more about the free EDGE software and the benefits of EDGE certification for the hotel industry.
An innovation of IFC – a member of the World Bank Group – EDGE helps property developers to build and brand green in a fast, easy and affordable way.
The webinar will focus on the size of the investment opportunity in green hotels and tourism, with examples from countries around the world.
Attendees will gain insights from real examples that demonstrate the return on investment for green hotels, showing how utility bill savings can offset the incremental costs of building green with short payback periods. There’s an opportunity to participate in an interactive demonstration of the EDGE software to sharpen your knowledge and skills about which green measures work best in a particular location with customers’ preferences in mind.
The webinar will be led by Rusmir Musić, the Global Business Development Lead for EDGE and will be hosted in collaboration with the Radisson Hotel Group, an EDGE Champion which is introducing the software and applying the EDGE standard to emerging markets. The webinar is also supported by the International Tourism Partnership (ITP).
Attendees will hear a presentation from Inge Huijbrechts Global Senior Vice President for Responsible Business and Safety & Security at the Radisson Hotel Group which is a long-term member of ITP and works with the organisation and its hotel company peers for bigger gains on positive social and environmental impacts. All ITP member companies support ITP’s Goals for 2030 which launched last year and are a call to action to the wider hotel industry to act now on carbon, water, youth employment and human rights.
Last week’s report from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) made it clear how important it is for all agencies to work to counteract climate change and reduce their CO2 footprints. ITP members share this sense of urgency and purpose and believe that the hotel sector can – and needs to be – a force for good. ITP is driving sector-wide collaboration and engagement with the channels, actors and mechanisms that will help to mobilise large-scale action on carbon.
The webinar will take place Thursday, October 31, 2018 from 9 – 10:30 (Washington, D.C. local time) / 14:00 – 15:30 (London local time). To learn more and to register hoteliers can visit the website here.
